The Power Electronics Laboratory is jointly operated by Professor Hideaki Fujita, Associate Professor Makoto Hagiwara, Assistant Professor Kenichiro Sano, Specially Appointed Professor Takahiro Urakabe, and Specially Appointed Associate Professor Shigeki Harada. Collaborating closely, we cover a wide range of power electronics technologies, from power semiconductor devices to converter circuits and system-level applications.
The laboratory accommodates a welcoming environment for researchers such as experimental labs and an office area for students, as well as hosting events like research seminars and welcome parties. Each faculty member is responsible for overseeing individual research projects and guiding students.
Established shortly after Tokyo College was upgraded to Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1929, our lab initially focused on electrical equipment, lighting, and control. With subsequent advancements in power semiconductor devices and their practical applications, the Power Electronics Laboratory has been at the forefront of research in power electronics circuits, control, and their applications.
